Ranked #5 of 15 Verified prostaglandin-free

Sweed Lash Growth Serum

The clean-beauty option that actually has a formula behind the positioning. Five peptides, vegan keratin, biotin and pumpkin seed oil, and nothing from the prostaglandin family. It is expensive for what it does — and it is one of only four products in this ranking with nothing on the label to explain.

What is in it

Myristoyl pentapeptide-17, pentapeptide-16, biotinoyl tripeptide-1 and octapeptide-2 give it more peptide variety than anything else here except The Ordinary. Hydrolysed keratin and pumpkin seed oil condition the lash shaft; hyaluronic acid and panthenol handle hydration. The ingredient list is short, which usually means the brand has nothing to hide in the middle of it.

Full ingredient list

Aqua, Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Cucurbita Pepo Seed Oil, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, Biotin, Pentapeptide-16, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Octapeptide-2, Glycerin, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Glycine Soja Polypeptide.

Verified prostaglandin-freeWe read every line: no synthetic analogue, and no natural prostaglandin source either — the pumpkin seed oil and larch extract here are conditioning agents, not actives borrowed from pharmacology. Only three of our fifteen products are clean on both counts.

How it performed

Gradual. Nothing measurable before week eight, and by week twelve the change was density rather than length — the same profile as The Ordinary, at nearly three times the price. Comfortable throughout, with no reports of stinging, and the oil content makes it unsuitable alongside lash extensions.

Who it is for

People who want an analogue-free serum and prefer a short, clean ingredient list. Suits sensitive eyes. Skip it if you wear lash extensions, because the pumpkin seed oil will work against the adhesive.

The verdict

Ranked #5 of 15

A good formula at a price that is hard to defend when The Ordinary exists. Buy it if the shorter ingredient list and the brand matter to you; otherwise the cheaper analogue-free option does the same job.

Safety note

This product contains no prostaglandin analogue. Patch-test on the inner forearm for two nights before applying along the lash line, remove contact lenses first, and stop if you notice redness, swelling or irritation that does not settle.
